Pilgrims Pride Trip
We learned about chicken safety!
At the Pilgrims Pride Chicken Plant, we learned about how they take care of their
chickens. They told us all about their plant and specific safety procedures. For instance,
they have around 10 USDA inspectors a day. Each inspector must to inspect every
chicken that passes by. We met with Andy Harris, the Complex manager, Dave Butters,
the HR manager, Mendal Kerr, the QC/ regulatory manager, Rusty Gabnel, the Plant
manager. They told us all about their plant. We also learned that their corn feed costs
more, increasing the price of chicken.
